Music
The music program at OVCA offers a wide range of outstanding instruction in a competitive, yet fun and encouraging environment. Students enjoy learning about the history of music and the impact it has on our society, as well as studying music theory in order to develop understanding in music notation, rules of harmony, ear training, etc. This training and skill development transfers over into daily hands-on practice with instruments in the classroom.

Spanish
At OVCA we believe language is far more than a system to be explained; it is culture in motion. Learning another language enables us to relate to other cultures, expand our future employment, broaden our witnessing capabilities, and sharpens skills in our own language. Learning to speak a second language allows us to reach out across cultural and linguistic boundaries. Spanish is one of the most spoken languages in the world.
Physical Education
PE is all about children getting exercise. Each class begins and ends with warm ups. Throughout the year, PE touches on several sports, fun fitness games, flexibility, strength, endurance, and work on eye/hand coordination. The focus is to have fun while increasing the child’s physical activity level.

Art
In the OVCA art class, students use the appropriate grade curriculum art books, as well as learn many facets of art. The students learn uses of color, art theory, lines, and practice landscapes and portraits using several different mediums. We make gifts for parents, highlighting the different holidays throughout the year. We even showcase some of the student’s artwork on the bulletin board upstairs.

Bible
In order for us to glorify God with our lives, we must know what His word says. Our students study a scripture or bible story every day and learn how to apply it to their lives. The A Beka Book Bible Program presents the Bible in the narrative style in which it is written. Stories of the Old and New Testaments, in the lower grades, lead up to the profound truths of the Gospels, Epistles, and other portions of Scripture for older students. The curriculum is designed to be specifically and systematically taught so that students in the program will become thoroughly acquainted with the basic portions of Scriptures. “All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.” 2 Timothy 3: 16-17
